Lake grew up on a mountain in the Bay Area with lots of plants and colored pencils. After college she received sponsorship from Patagonia to do things like bike cross-country and learn about the US agricultural system from the perspective of female farmers. After working with the design teams at Levi’s, Nest, Patagonia and 1st Ave Machine, she headed to RISD for her MFA. Recently her short films have been featured by AIGA and the Sundance Film Festival. Lake brings a sense of wonder into her life through drawing and film; she likes creating a peculiar form of ordinary magic that moves between the mundane and dreams. She'll be busy teaching and living in the studio before graduating this June.
